Welcome

The Lychgate Youth Trust was established as a registered charity in August 2000 at the instigation of Canon Geraint Meirion-Jones, then the Rector of our Benefice, who recognised the lack of leisure facilities for young people aged over twelve.
The object of the Lychgate Trust was to recruit and fund a youth worker to work in the six villages forming the United Benefice of Albury, Chilworth and Shere in Surrey. He was to provide activities for all our young people regardless of their faith and background.
Bruce Paterson joined us in February 2002 and now enjoys a high profile throughout the three parishes. By the beginning of 2006, a number of new clubs have been started, and now there are more than 400 young people on our register.
Existing clubs and groups have also been supported with Bruce taking an active role with Albury Junior Cricket Club and Albury Eagle's young footballers.
