GASP Motor Education Centre
I never thought that when I conceived the idea of GASP that it would take so long to become
a reality. However after 3 long years of hard work, the GASP building is complete and fully equipped.
See how it was achieved here.
The first group of boys have completed their course and the first girl's course has begun.
We have so many people to thank, too numerous to list, for all their efforts in raising funds
(£45,000), gaining planning consent and organising the build. But a very special thanks goes to
our friends at The Friary in Chilworth who donated the piece of land for the workshop to be built on.
GASP is a motor club for boys and girls, aged 14+, who have an interest in cars. It is an opportunity
to learn "hands-on" the basics of motor engineering, through a 30 hour course
(over 14 weeks) which we are seeking to have accredited by the Open College Network. It is a
place where young people can learn responsible car ownership with the opportunity of off-road
driving under instruction. And yes, also have great fun through social events and special courses.
GASP meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7p.m. to 9p.m..
If you are 14+ and are interested, or if you are an adult with some mechanical experience who would
like to help, then contact Bruce.
